The Community Relations Specialist is responsible for providing daily content for the Connect-Bridgeport Web site. The primary goal of this position is to make Connect-Bridgeport an informative portal for Bridgeport and a trusted community resource. This role is the Connect-Bridgeport Web site's representative in the community.
Responsibilities
Keep up with daily website updates and Connect-Bridgeport postings; Writing and providing accurate, timely news, sports and information to Connect-Bridgeport readers; Research and write local stories for Connect-Bridgeport; Monitoring Connect-Bridgeport Facebook page for negative or inappropriate comments and answering messages as needed; Average production of stories for the Connect-Bridgeport website is 2 per day; Maintain information requests while being the point of contact for the general public; Manage advertising placement page by keeping it updated and assist with the content of ads; Take photos at events within the community, then create photo galleries for events; Create graphics to assist co-workers with stories; Assist users with log in issues, assist businesses with job/directory submissions; Any duties deemed necessary by the Executive Director;
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, Journalism, English or a related field is required; Writing skills and experience in managing content; Minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant field required; Technological proficiency required.
