Historic Quiet Dell Grade School, West Virginia Heritage Crafts-West Virginia CCC Museum Opens Summer of 14 Season

The Summer Season at the historic Quiet Dell Grade School opens Friday, June 20, 2014. Many Bridgeport and Clarksburg area residents passed through the halls of the Quiet Dell Grade School. Enjoy the memories as you walk through the rustic classrooms. The school built in 1922 has been preserved for posterity. The school is under the fine domain of the people of Harrison County. West Virginia Day 2014 marks the opening of the summer season in the fine Community of Quiet Dell. The Historic Quiet Dell Grade School. On the grounds of the school, you will see much activity. The schoolhouse has been painted. Two replica CCC barracks can be viewed on the grounds. A 1930 Ford Model A CCC Truck is on display. The old blacksmith barn stands nearby. The West Virginia Heritage Crafts shop is located in the schoolhouse. Fine handmade West Virginia made crafts can be purchased. The crafts shop and CCC Museum is closed on Tuesdays. Enjoy the accomplishments of the Civilian Conservation Corps Tree Army, the CCC. The over 400 CCC artifacts relate the story of the horrors of the Great Depression and how a government program helped the people get through those tough times. There is never a charge for the CCC Museum. The museum needs your help to preserve the heritage there. Be a part of our museum. The Community of Quiet Dell and Harrison County is proud of the CCC Museum. Please call before visiting. 304 622 3304. Open 10-5 on weekdays and Saturday. 10-2 on Sundays. Tell your friends and relatives who are visiting for the summer to put it on their to do list. Thank you Connect Bridgeport.
