Richard Duez Presents Photography on North Central West Virginia in the American Civil War
Richard Duez will again be at the Bridgeport Public Library to present more of his collection of historic photography. Duez has selected North Central West Virginia in the American Civil War as his theme for his presentation on June 18, 2013 at 6:30pm. Duez will provide a slide show assortment of photographs while simultaneously explaining the surrounding area’s participation in the war. All are welcome and admission is free.
Duez hopes to one day publish a portion of his collection in a bound edition available for public purchase. If achieved, the people of the area could hold their own history and documentation of days gone by. Until Duez’s collection of historic photos is readily available on every coffee table in town, all are invited to attend his presentation at the Bridgeport Public Library.
Duez’s collection of photography spans more than just historic Bridgeport. He has over 20,000 images of the area including modern sports events and the surrounding county. He has made numerous photographic donations to West Virginia University Libraries that have considerably expanded the institution’s coverage of Harrison County.
