Clarksburg City Parks Holding Trunk or Treat Saturday

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on October 23, 2025

The City Parks of Clarksburg is excited to announce the return of one of the community’s favorite fall traditions — the 6th Annual Trunk or Treat event, happening this Saturday, October 25th, at Veterans Memorial Park. The event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. and promises a fun, safe, and family-friendly evening for ghosts, goblins, and superheroes of all ages.

The Trunk or Treat event invites local businesses, organizations, and families to decorate their vehicles and hand out candy to costumed children as they make their way through the park. Along with candy and creative displays, attendees can enjoy music, face painting, interactive word search, movie and television characters from seasonal classics, and plenty of Halloween spirit throughout the evening.

“This event has grown every year thanks to the amazing support from our community,” said Doug Comer, Superintendent of City Parks of Clarksburg. “It’s a great way for families to enjoy Halloween together in a safe environment while showcasing the creativity and generosity of our residents and local groups.”

The 6th Annual Trunk or Treat is free to attend, and everyone is encouraged to come in costume and join the fun. Parking will be available on-site and it is recommended to park in the lower lot by the Splash Zone, and early arrival is recommended due to the event’s popularity.

“We have upwards of 2,000 kids and parents attend this annual event and with the weather expected to be around 50 degrees, we should have a great crowd. It is a great feeling hosting events like this for those in the area as it allows us to show our appreciation to those in Clarksburg and the surrounding areas. Our Office Manager Tessa Fazzini started this, and she does an amazing job at organizing and making sure the families enjoy the experience. The team always looks forward to this event,” said Comer.

For more information, please contact the City Parks of Clarksburg at (304) 624-1655 or find us on Facebook at City Parks of Clarksburg. Come celebrate Halloween with us — it’s sure to be a “spooktacular” night at Veterans Memorial Park!
