UPDATE: Route 50 West Reopened; Bridge Closed

UPDATE: A traffic alert from the City of Bridgeport has advised that both lanes of U.S. Route 50 West are now open following an accident involving an excavator striking the Second Street Bridge.
The bridge, both on and off ramps, remains closed.
ORIGINAL: Officials from the West Virginia Division of Highways have reported that the U.S. Route in Clarksburg at the Second Street exit and bridge off U.S. Route 50 will be closed until further notice due to a vehicle accident.
The bridge is not accessible. All traffic, including emergency vehicles, just use alternate route.
Clarksburg Police Chief Mark Kiddy has told multiple media outlets that one lane of Route 50 itself in that area is closed as cleanup is being done in the area of the accident. DOH officials are also trying to determine damage to the bridge as the result of a collision.
