Strawberry Festival Gets Normal Status after COVID Cancelation in 2020, Abbreviated Version Last Year

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on May 18, 2022 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The 80th Annual West Virginia Strawberry Festival is underway in full capacity for the first time since COVID-19 interrupted the decades-old event in 2020.

Two years ago, the pandemic scratched the entire affair. Last year, the Festival was held on a very scaled down version. This year, things are back to normal and events have already started in Buckhannon.

One of the main events, the Grand Feature Parade, is set for Saturday (May 21). The event usually packs the parade route with spectators several rows deep. Plenty of food will be available and the carnival begins today (Wednesday, May 18).
