Harrison County 4-H Members Excel in Cattleman's Choice Contest

Between September 2025 and May 2026, Harrison County 4-H members competed in the Cattleman’s Choice Contest that is hosted by Oklahoma State University’s Division of Animal and Food Science.
In this team event, youth are supplied with bull sale catalogs, videos, breed specific data, and a production scenario. They then use this information to select their top four bulls. The bulls are given point values by the official judges, with the bull that best fit the scenario having the most points.
This contest was open to 4-H clubs and Future Farmers of America chapters around the country, with over 30 teams competing in the contest. This year, the Harrison County 4-H team took sixth place.
The Harrison County 4-H team was coached by Jennifer Friend, WVU Harrison County Extension Agent.
