Raise Funds for Medbrook Children's Charity Inclusive Playground; Participate in Kroger Community Rewards Program

As reported in early-December, The Medbrook Children’s Charity Inclusive Playground is more than three-quarters funded and Friends of Bridgeport Recreation are excited about every dollar raised towards its $1 million goal.
 
Mayor Andy Lang said ground will be broken at The Bridge Sports Complex, just outside Citynet Center, as soon as the project is fully funded.
 
Now, there’s a way members of the public can help cross the finish line with the fundraising goal. The Kroger Community Rewards Program earns dollars for local organizations by donating a percentage of shopping totals. To participate, create a digital account and and enter the name or nonprofit tax ID number of the organization you wish to support. The NPO for the Medbrook Children’s Charity Inclusive Playground is BE835.
 
Bridgeport Recreation Coordinator Amy Callahan people are already utilizing the program and earning money for the playground fund.

Having an inclusive playground in Bridgeport has been a goal for several years and once it was decided to place it at The Bridge Sports Complex, The 501c3 charitable organization Friends of Bridgeport Recreation was formed and hit the ground running as community members and organizations stepped up to support the project. The playground will be available to children from throughout the area and will accommodate kids with any types of disabilities. It is a project that the city is totally invested in and one they look forward to being available for years into the future.
 
“A playground of this quality requires quite a bit of maintenance, and the city is committed to keeping it up,” said Mayor Andy Lang.
