Reminder: Remaining Days, Streets, for Bridgeport's Annual Spring Cleanup Event Can be Located Here

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on May 08, 2026

Residents are reminded that the first week of spring cleanup ends today and the second, and final week, begins this coming Monday, May 11.

Community Development Director Andrea Kerr recently released the schedule. It started Monday, May 4 and concludes on Friday, May 15.

Kerr said earlier the event has become one of the most popular services provided by the city. She said it has become two-fold in its purpose.

“The main thing is that it allows residents to get rid of unwanted items in their homes,” she said. “At the same time, a neighbor, or someone going past some of the items being disposed of are picked up and repurposed.”

The dates were initially released more than a month before the pickup starts is by design, Kerr said previously.

“This gives residents ample time to know when their pickup date is and be able to get everything ready to be taken to their curbs for pickup,” Kerr said.

Kerr reminded residents that the no-charge pickup is only done in the spring.

She added that the amount collected by Waste Management has been consistent in recent years.

“The tonnage collected is in the same range. The pickup totals between 90 and 100 tons each year, which is a significant amount,” Kerr said.

Click HERE for the days your street will see pickup. Please note that the list includes streets that were already completed.
