WEN WV Continues Scholarship Program for Female Students Pursuing STEM or Energy-Related Fields

The Women’s Energy Network (WEN) West Virginia, an organization of professional women in the energy field working to develop and advance women in energy, recently released their scholarship application for female students.
The scholarship is open to current young women (seniors in high school, and college undergraduates and graduates) in WV seeking degrees and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Energy and Mathematics (STEM) fields of study and careers in energy-related fields. Scholarship amounts will be awarded annually in the amounts of $1K-$5K and will be based on funding availability and applicant pool.
“Expanding opportunities for young women in the energy industry starts with investing in their education and potential,” said WEN WV Board President, Stephanie Pethtel. “Through these scholarships, we hope to encourage the next generation of leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers to pursue careers that will shape the future of energy. The WEN WV Board is so proud to support young women who are passionate about making an impact in this dynamic and essential industry.”
Eligibility for this scholarship opportunity includes:
- Must identify as a woman, attend high school in senior year, or an accredited 2–4-year college or university, and reside in West Virginia.
- Must be a STEM major with an intent to focus studies or pursue a career in an energy related field
- Must have an average 3.0 GPA (unweighted) with proof from high school or college transcripts
- Must plan to or be attending an accredited 2–4-year college or university
- Must have two letters of recommendation that includes contact information for them and are not relatives. References must be 21 or older.
