Floral Design with Cara: Christmas Arrangements for All Tastes

By Cara Ewald on December 19, 2014 from Floral Design with Cara via Connect-Bridgeport.com

When ordering your holiday arrangement keep in mind the room in which the arrangement will be placed.  Whether it’s traditional, modern, or vintage, your trusted local florist will be able to help you order the perfect holiday arrangement.  This blog will cover a few, but not all types of arrangements available.

Traditional Christmas:

Traditional Christmas cut flower arrangements are simple yet gorgeous.  The traditional long and low mix of Christmas greens, holly, lotus pods, and pine cones would look great in a traditional kitchen and dining room setting.  Simple flowers and berries can be added for extra adornment.  Add a candle to these arrangements for a cozy look and feel.

Natural Christmas:

Christmas greens in a birch or burlap container are the perfect addition to a woodsy room.  These arrangements can be adorned with lotus pods and pine cones and candles.  Flowers can also be added to these arrangements.  You may request traditional red roses or carnations, or for a more vintage look the palette can be more neutral.  Sahara roses would lend vintage elegance to any natural arrangement.

Modern Christmas:

For a contemporary look, you should select a modern container.  Boat-shaped or cylinder bronze containers will give a more industrial and modern look to any floral arrangement.  For modern elegance, silver or gold containers can be filled with amaryllis, hydrangea, orchids, roses, and hypericum berries in the traditional red, white and green Christmas palette.

These are just a few of the looks available.  Have the conversation with your florist!  And, trust their design expertise.  But, no matter the look you choose, the most important thing to remember is to fill your holiday with the three F's!  Flowers, Food, and Family!  Merry Christmas!
