Time Travel: Another Look at Annual Fireman's Fair Parade and a Famous Hotel from Berkeley Springs

By Dick Duez on February 16, 2020 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The Bridgeport Fireman's Fair is still talked about fondly to this day by those who participated the annual event. This photo is from the parade and shows some activity right in front of the Main Street Fire Department. This photo is believed to be from 1966. If you know who is in the picture or the equipment being pulled, add a comment in the comment section below.
Although the date of this photo is unknown, it shows the Washington Hotel in Berkeley Springs, which was located just to the right of the springs bath house and the bath tub that George Washington had cut out of the base of the hill out of stone in 1748.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history.
