Time Travel: Bridgeport Manor Flag Presentation from 2002 and Rewinding Decades to Visit Seneca Rocks

By Dick Duez on March 05, 2023 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This photo, believed to be from June of 2002, shows a formal presentation of the United States flag taking place at the Bridgeport Manor. Shown, from left, are former City Council member and retired military Mike Conley, former Bridgeport Police Officer Bobby Goodrich, former Bridgeport Fire Chief Chuck Feathers, former Bridgeport Fire Chief (the late) Kelly Blackwell, former Bridgeport Fire Fighter Randy Scott, and former Bridgeport Police Officer Jon Harbert. This photo is courtesy of Ruth Allen, and is one of several you will be seeing in the months ahead.
Although not much has changed to Seneca Rocks from this picture many decades ago, the surrounding along the roadway certainly have changed. Today, the cliffs in Pendleton County, which are home to nesting Peregrine Falcons and other bird and animal species, is a major tourist attraction.
