Time Travel: Bridgeport's 1970's Police Department and a Look at a Small, Rural West Virginia Post Office

By Dick Duez on November 29, 2020 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This photo is from the 1970s, although the exact date is unknown. It shows members of the Bridgeport Police Department standing in front of what is today the city's Main Street Fire Station. Chief John Diamond and Mayor Carl Furbee are shown in the front. Do you know any others? Add their names in the comment section below.
Here's a look at a small, rural post office in Glady, West Virginia, which is an unincorporated community in Randolph County. This photo, as can be seen at the bottom right, was taken Dec. 9, 2006. Anyone been to this little building?

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@citynet.net.
