Although some of this is still familiar, a lot of this has changed. This is a photo of Compton Park from 1987 and it is still being widely used to this day. In the distance, two youngsters are playing basketball. The court, for years, drew huge crowds to play hoops. It was once a major tourist attraction, and at the time of this photo in 1965, Lake Riley in Lewis County was a big draw. for locals and tourists. It today is a private residence. It is believed to have shut down business operations in the mid-1980s.
