Time Travel: One of City's Legendary Businesses and Going Back to a Marion County Hotel during 1908

By Dick Duez on July 03, 2022 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Many may remember this spot from decades ago. This is the Green Parrot Tourist Camp, which was built by Pete Hall - likely in the 1930s. It greeted travelers on U.S. Route 50 going through Bridgeport.
This is the Hotel D'Bolt on old Route 73 on Main Street in Boothsville in Marion County. The photo, which is looking north on the old roadway, is from 1908.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts Duez to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dickdo@citynet.net.
