After Five Years, Meadowbrook Mall Business Closes

By Jeff Toquinto on August 05, 2026 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

With Meadowbook Mall seeing plenty of additions and a few subtractions in recent months, one local offering at the Bridgeport retail hub recently shut its doors, and its space is not part of the recently announced plan for several new businesses.

Sunrise Spa, which was located beside Auntie Anne’s and across from Marshalls, shut its doors after more than five years in business. According to the City of Bridgeport Finance Department, Sunrise Spa has a start date of April 1, 2021. It has a date for end of service as May 1, 2026.

“Right now, we do not have anything planned to go into that space,” said Meadowbrook Mall Property Manager Robin Urquhart. “We do hope to fill that soon. I know leasing is working on that space the few additional open spaces looking to get them filled before the holiday season.”

Sunrise Spa offered standard massage and other spa-related services, Urquhart said. If interested in utilizing the 1,700 square feet now available, contact Brian McGahagan, leasing director with the Cafaro Company, the Meadowbrook Mall’s owner, at 330-747-2746.

Although there have been several closures, there are also several additional arrivals. Cafaro recently announced the upcoming arrival of three new stores, along with the relocation of another. More on those stores in the days ahead.
