Allison Hess Ralston is First West Virginia Recipient of Knowles Fellowship

Allison Hess Ralston has been named a Knowles fellow. Ralston is the first West Virginia recipient of the award.
The Knowles Teaching Fellows Program is an intensive and cohesive program that supports early-career, high school mathematics and science teachers in their efforts to develop teaching expertise and lead from the classroom. It also provides resources such as classroom grants and stipends to assist with those endeavors.
The 2020 Bridgeport High School graduate currently teaches at Fairmont Senior. Ralston is a graduate of West Virginia University, where she majored in biology with an emphasis in the WVUTeach Program.
While at WVU, she was a member of the American Association for Anatomy and did research at the Health Sciences Campus in Anatomical Variations through the Research Apprnticeship Program. She served as a teaching assistant for 100- and 200-level biology courses.
She is the wife of Jacob Ralston and the daughter of Elizabeth and Michael Hess.
Ralston enjoys rock climbing, backpacking, biking, running and other outdoor activities.
