2020 has been a banner year for most.  All of our lives have drastically changed with COVID-19 in our communities and the things we once took for granted have been altered. And for many that means not visiting with and honoring loved ones who are in the hospital or in care facilities.

This Father’s Day was no different. Our local Veterans Nursing Home was filled with veterans who were not able to visit with families due to social distancing regulations and risk of exposure.

Bridgeport American Legion Post #68 helped bring Father’s Day to the Veterans! Legion members participated in the Father’s Day Parade at the Veterans Nursing Home in addition to more than 20 cars and families. Also present, Dustin Lowdermilk of Clarksburg with his custom wrapped semi-trailer honoring his late father, Robert Lowdermilk and grandfather, Willard Teets. Dustin’s custom trailer honors not only his family but all men and women who have served.

Check out more photos from the parade in the gallery below.
