Bridgeport High School has many traditions. Among those traditions is to be among the best academic high schools in West Virginia.

This past week, during the Senior Assembly and again at graduation, the students helped to prove the lofty academic reputation and tradition remains in place.

According to Bridgeport High School Counselor Michael Lemley, BHS students graduating this year earned more than $9 million in scholarships.

The total is the result of the Class of 2025 earning 521 scholarships. Lemley said those 521 scholarships were awarded to 126 members of the graduating class.

The actual dollar amount for Class of 2025 for single year scholarships is $2,392,765.23.  The four total is $9,076,860.92, according to Principal Renee Mathews.
