Bridgeport High School Computer Science Students Participate in Technology Day

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 25, 2026

On September 22, students in Mrs. Kellee Shuttleworth's Computer Science class at Bridgeport High School participated in Technology Day.

This was to celebrate Technology in Education Day. The students rotated through different station activities all designed to showcase different types of technology.

This event was coordinated by BHS Media Specialist and Librarian Angie Westfall. The class would like to thank everybody who helped make this day such a success for the students!

Photos in the below gallery are as follows:

1.) In the Technology Through the Years museum, students were able to explore technological advances from the past 100 years. This included farm tools, games, typewriters, navigational technology before GPS, ways people listened to music before streaming, film cameras, movie cameras,  various types of video cameras, first aid and medicine in the 1950's and kitchen implements. The artifacts were lent to us by family and staff at BHS (thank you so much)

2.) Rebecca O'Connor from the Bridgeport Public Library helped the students explore how to use 3D pens.

3.) Lindsay Short and Todd Poole from the Technology Department at the HCBOE showed students all the parts of a tower computer and laptop computer. They explained how the parts worked.

4.) Amy Webster from the Technology Department at the HCBOE led an activity in which students had to code robots "Dot" and "Dash" to play basketball.

5.) The students had the opportunity to use Cubelets to create flashlights, animals, and vehicles that would move. In order to get their creations to e interactive, they had to use the correct circuit order.

6.) Justin Kifer from the Technology Department at the HCBOE led students in using Snap Circuits to create various projects.

7.) Students used a piano made of celery, and a guitar with quarters for strings to make beautiful music in the "Makey Makey" Station.
