Bridgeport Man who was Long-Time Coach, Provided Comfort for Thousands, William Patrick Aman, Passes

William Patrick “Pat” Aman, 71, of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at his residence with family by his side. He was born September 23, 1952, in Weston, WV; the son of the late William Robert “Red” Aman and Alice Patricia Conley Aman.
 
Pat graduated from St Patrick High School, Class of 1970 and Fairmont State College, Class of 1974 with his B.S. Degree. He worked in the oil and gas industry as a well tender. He retired with 28 years with Holy Cross Cemetery as the Superintendent where he had a true love of people and comforting everyone. He enjoyed watching sports and collecting coins. Pat’s passion for sharing his love of sports by coaching baseball and basketball for 25 years. He loved spending time with the family and his four-legged companions, Rozie and Ziggy.
 
Pat is survived by his wife of 46 years, Danielle “Dee” Perrine Aman whom he married on September 17, 1977; three children, Aaron P Aman (Jade) Clarksburg, Andrea N Aman Paugh (Brian) Bridgeport, and Daniel “Danny” Aman, Bridgeport; three grandchildren, Kendall “Peanut” Paugh, Georgia “Heidi” Aman and Colton Carpenter; siblings, Alice Ann Godfrey (Jamie), David Aman (Nicole); nephews, Logan Godfrey (Emily), Jacob Aman, and Joey Aman; niece, Sydney Aman.
 
Pat donated his body to the WVU Human Gift Registry. The Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg WV on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the time of the Rosary Service at 4:00 PM to share memory’s and celebrate Pat’s life.
