Bridgeport, Region Still Likely to Face Severe Weather

The City of Bridgeport and the region is still expecting a significant severe weather threat today, Tuesday, July 21, according to Bridgeport Emergency Management Director Tim Curry.
Damaging winds, large hail, isolated tornadoes, and heavy rainfall are all possible. The greatest risk for severe weather is currently between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m., with another round of storms possible later this evening.
A Flood Watch is also in effect due to the potential for repeated heavy rainfall. Some storms could produce wind gusts over 50 miles per hour and rainfall rates of 3 to 5 inches per hour, creating a serious risk of flash flooding.
