FROM BRIDGEPORT POLICE CHIEF JOHN WALKER

 

The Bridgeport Police have received complaints regarding a phone scam associated with Publishers Clearing House (PCH). Residents are receiving phone calls from a person claiming to be with publishers clearing house advising resident they won money.

 

The caller provides several phone numbers and asked for personal information up to and including banking information as well as asking for the winner (victim) to send checks and or cash to various addresses in order to claim the prize. The Bridgeport Police want to alert the community of this scam and remind you not to send money or give out personal information if you receive one of these calls.
