City's Newest Restaurant Opens with Familiar Name in Charge Bringing Established Brand to Familiar Site

By Jeff Toquinto on July 16, 2026

Bridgeport’s newest restaurant opened its doors Tuesday, July 14, and is bringing a familiar name and a familiar owner with it.

The former B’s Pizzeria of Glen Elk, now B’s Pizzeria, has opened shop on Main Street in Bridgeport. It is situated in the DePolo Plaza in the home of the former Original Italian Pizza that closed shop. Bonasso has taken over the lease of the former eatery.

It was less than three weeks since David Bonasso closed the location in Glen Elk (June 29) until he opened earlier this week. He was pleased with day one in Bridgeport and was prepping pizzas and other items Wednesday ahead of the lunch gathering.

“Everything went extremely well,” said Bonasso, who has worked in Bridgeport prior and has an extensive family-based background in the food industry. “We were well received and we saw a lot of locals coming back from Clarksburg, and a lot of new faces from the Bridgeport area.”

Bonasso is hoping to take advantage of the thousands of vehicles driving past the Main Street location. His previous site was hampered early by being off the beaten path in Glen Elk, and further hampered by restricted access for months due to road construction in downtown Clarksburg, Bonasso said.

“I don’t see traffic as a problem here at all. We are looking forward to taking advantage of it, and we’re also looking forward to taking advantage of the high volume of workers in the immediate area for our lunch specials and for takeout for dinner.”

As mentioned, Bonasso is no stranger to Bridgeport, and no stranger to the food industry. His late father, Louis, was the owner and operator of nearly a dozen KFC stores at the time they were still called Kentucky Fried Chicken, including locations in Bridgeport and Clarksburg. He has been in the food service industry 45 years.

As for training, Bonasso got his official start by going to the Pennsylvania Culinary School in 1991. He went to school there with Muriale’s owner and Bridgeport resident Scott Duarte. said Bonasso.

Bonasso’s top deal at his previous location was the $7 lunch special. Two big slices of pizza and a drink for $7.

The menu will be the same – featuring pizza, hoagies, salads, additional items, and daily specials. Although it will remain pickup only, Bonasso said the space has been modified for a waiting area. Curbside service will also be available.

The address for those using GPS is 927 West Main Street, Bridgeport. It is across Route 50 from Wilson Martino Dental.

Hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. To place an order, call 304-918-9010.
