DHHR Reports Number of Positive Cases of COVID-19 at 1,705; Deaths related to virus at 72

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting as of this evening (Friday, May 22) at 5 p.m., the total number of positive COVID-19 cases has increased from 1,616 to 1,705 ; an increase of 89. DHHR officials earlier in the day during Governor Jim Justice's press conference said there would be a huge change in the number of positive cases as they altered their data collecting method.
 
Friday evening's report is showing that the total number of tests given is 82,747 and the percentage of positive cases vs. tests given is at 2.06 percent. The daily percent positive is at 4.54 percent (daily tests/confirmatory test results)
 
According to the DHHR website, Harrison County's number of positive cases is 38 with one death and 20 recoveries. 
 
Also, the DHHR is reporting the number of statewide deaths has increased from 71 to 72.
 
The number of recoveries from the virus is at 1,107.
