Multiple emergency response units were on the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Route 50 in front of the Maple Valley Meat Market.
The 2 p.m. accident resulted in a female in one of the vehicles being entrapped, according to Bridgeport Fire Chief Phil Hart. The patient was successfully removed from the vehicle, he said.
Hart said the female in question was taken to United Hospital Center by the Anmoore Volunteer Fire Department’s ambulance service. He added that the injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
Along with the Bridgeport Fire Department, the Clarksburg Fire Department also responded to the scene. The Anmoore Fire Department and the Bridgeport Police were also on the scene.
All of the agencies on hand are part of the mutual aid network the city is in with other agencies.
The Bridgeport Police handled the traffic. According to Hart, both lanes were closed during the extrication of the patient by the jaws of life, but were reopended shortly after that issue and the towing was handled..
