Harrison County Woman who Spent Decades Making Mark in Education, Eleanore Moore, Passes at 103

Eleanore L. Carder Moore, 103, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021, at her residence.
 
She was born December 12, 1917, in Clarksburg, WV, the daughter of William J and Nellie Scory Waters.
 
Eleanore is survived by one son, Charles “Chuck” Albert Moore, and his wife, Nancy of Findlay, OH; daughter-in-law, Mary Elizabeth (Custer) Carder of Bastrop, TX; two grandsons, Jeffrey Paul Carder and Laura of Bastrop, TX, and Myron Moore and Heather of Toledo, OH; two granddaughters, Dee Pihonsky of Ramsey, MN, and Alicia Nieto, of Bluffton, OH; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Eugene Carder; second husband, Raymond Paul Moore; son, Dr. William “Bill” Jay Carder; daughter, Nelda Rae Moore; grandson, William “Bill” Jay Carder Jr; and two great-granddaughters, Rebecca Carder and Bella Waldron.
 
Eleanore was a faithful member of Stealey United Methodist Church. She retired from the Harrison County Board of Education as Secretary after working several years at North View Elementary School.
 
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m., with Rev. Michael Burge presiding.
 
Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum.
