Long-Time Local Business Announces its Upcoming Closure after 25 Years on Clarksburg's Main Street

By Jeff Toquinto on May 09, 2025

A local business that has been a staple of downtown Clarksburg for a quarter of a century will soon be closing, according to one of its owners.

Wicked Sisters Clothing Boutique, which is located on Main Street across from the Harrison County Courthouse, will be shutting its doors. Owner Cathy Goings confirmed the closing.

The reason does not have anything to do with business being poor. Rather, Goings said she is retiring.

“Twenty-five years of retail is my limit at this point of my life,” said Goings.

The unique and popular local business catered to those with a unique fashion sense. Whether that continues under new ownership is unknown.

Goings said that she has not advertised the business for sale or given it too much thought. However, she did say that the building in question would be for sale.

At the present time, Goings was not sure of the exact date of closure. The store is currently having a retirement sale with items 60 percent off.

Goings operated multiple businesses in Clarksburg as well as Bridgeport. She owned Embellishments Too that was on Main Street in the city, at the intersection of Main and Center Street.

For information, call the store at 304-326-2249.
