Meadow Haven Wedding Venue Opens in Salem

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 16, 2026

Located on over 500 rural acres in the hills of Salem, West Virginia, Meadow Haven is a new wedding and event venue.

The facility combines authentic barn settings and modern amenities to offer rustic-elegant charm, indoor/outdoor spaces, bride and groom suites, fireplaces, a bar, kitchen and catering facilities and prides itself on plenty of photo spots.

Co-owners Freddy Dodd and Giget Kuroski always knew their picturesque property would be an ideal wedding venue – where couples could celebrate surrounded by wide-open fields, quiet skies and the kind of beauty that can’t be manufactured.

The idea was on the back burner; part of a long?term retirement plan – until this past summer.

“Our nephew came to us with the biggest smile and the biggest request: He was proposing to his girlfriend and wanted our land to be the place where they said, ‘I do.’ And not someday - this year,” Kuroski said. “We looked at each other with our jaws on the floor, fully aware of the long hours and heavy lifting ahead. But we also knew this land was meant to be shared, and there was no way we could say no.”

So, the family rallied.

“Everyone pitched in. And in just four and a half months, we transformed a dream into a reality. On October 9, 2025, we proudly hosted our very first wedding,” Kuroski said.

Meadow Haven was truly built upon a dream.

“This venue had no blueprint - a lot of our scribbles on paper and what he would say ‘my crazy ideas’ but we drew it all out and started building with the family, a lot of grit, and the belief that love deserves a setting as genuine as the people celebrating it,” Kuroski said.

The owners describe it as an authentic venue with a touch of modern class - where rustic meets elegance for an unforgettable celebration.

“If you’re looking for a place where nature does the decorating, where sunsets steal the show, and where your wedding day feels grounded, warm, and unforgettable, our land is ready to welcome you," Kuroski said. "It's why we call Meadow Haven ‘A Field of Memories.’” Kuroski said.

Meadow Haven is booking weddings for 2026 and 2027. There are various packages available, as well as A' La Carte and decorator and coordinator services.

“From the beginning, we wanted this to be a place where couples could celebrate without feeling like they had to go into debt, drain their savings, or take out a loan just to have the wedding they dreamed of. We believe love should be celebrated—not budget?burdened,” Kuroski said.

The 500 acres of untouched countryside offers both inside and outside amenities and a ceremony site positioned so the sun sets perfectly behind the vows.

“Our goal is to offer a beautiful, private, unforgettable setting that’s accessible to everyone.  For couples who want beauty without the pressure and for families who want to gather without worry. It's for anyone who dreams of a wedding day that feels warm, genuine, and more magical than they ever imagined,” she said.
