A national restaurant chain with thousands of locations nationwide and several in West Virginia as well as the area is opening its first location in the City of Bridgeport.

 

Recently, Jersey Mike’s acquired a building permit, which is dated June 9. They will be situated at White Oaks near the first Retail Village Building – in the second unit that includes Starbucks and Bridgeport Physical Therapy.

 

“Jersey Mike’s is a well-known national chain, and we’re thrilled to have them in Bridgeport. It’s great to see more restaurants coming off Jerry Dove Drive due to the amount of traffic and the number of hotels in that area,” said Bridgeport Community Development Director Andrea Kerr. “Add in that (The Bridge) Recreation Complex has so many tournaments and visitors that it provides another option for our out-of-town guests, along with our own residents.”

 

This is not the first location in Harrison County. There is currently a Jersey Mike’s at the Eastpointe Shopping Plaza in Clarksburg. There are approximately 3,403 Jersey Mike's locations across the United States. They operated in all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia.

 

The permit showed the cost for the work being done was $202,500 (this is for the work listed on the permit, not what it cost to file the permit). The reason for the lower number is that it is a build out inside the shell building, often referred to as Retail Building 2 at White Oaks. This location is between Elegant Nails and State Farm and can be seen from Jerry Dove Drive.

 

Epic Construction Services, LLC, is the contractor. They are based out of Raleigh, NC.

 

Jersey Mike’s is a fast-casual submarine sandwich chain founded in 1956 on the Jersey Shore. It is known for premium deli meats and cheeses sliced fresh to order and serve hot and cold subs on fresh-baked bread daily.

 

An estimated opening date is not known, but contractors were working on the site this week. The address of the new restaurant is 25 Sweetbrier Lane, Bridgeport, 26330.
