National, Highly Popular Restaurant Chain with Nearly 1,000 Locations Opens its First Site in West Virginia

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on February 11, 2026

According to WDTV, Raising Cane’s opened its first West Virginia location in Morgantown on Tuesday, Feb. 3, drawing hundreds of customers who lined up to be among the first to experience the popular chicken chain.

Over 200 people braved the cold to get their first taste of Cane’s, with some camping out overnight. The franchise said they pride themselves on serving elite chicken fingers and are thrilled to bring their brand to the Mountain State.

“It’s going to be a really great experience overall, with our amazing crew and strong culture. We’re always welcoming to our community,” said Warren Sewell, Raising Cane’s Regional Vice President. “Every Raising Cane’s restaurant we open keeps its focus on the local community. Everything you see here is an homage to the Morgantown community.”

The first 100 customers who purchased a box combo received commemorative Cane’s hats and a free combo meal voucher to redeem at a later date. The restaurant is located at 3515 University Town Centre Drive in Morgantown, West Virginia.
