FROM THE HARRISON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

 

On May 12, 2026, at approximately 9:10 a.m., deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to Patterson Fork Road near Salem regarding a possible single-vehicle accident reported by a third party.

 

Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle approximately 30 feet down an embankment. An elderly male occupant was found trapped inside the overturned vehicle. Emergency personnel from Salem Fire Department, Nutter Fort Fire Department, and EMS responded to the scene and safely extricated the driver.

 

The individual was transported to United Hospital Center for evaluation.

 

The accident remains under investigation by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.
