State Division of Natural Resources Set to Sponsor the Annual West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 19, 2026

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) today announced that it is sponsoring the West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show in Charleston on Jan. 23-25.

The annual event, hosted by the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, draws thousands of hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts each year and features some of the outdoor industry's top brands and outfitters. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at chaswvccc.com. Kids 12 and under get in for free.

“The West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show is an incredible opportunity to bring together hunters and anglers and celebrate our state’s natural resources and shared outdoor traditions,” said WVDNR Director Brett McMillion. “We’re proud to sponsor this important event and help showcase why West Virginia is a great place for hunting and fishing adventures.”

West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show Schedule
The show will be open Friday, Jan. 23 from 12–9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

WVDNR officials will open the show on Friday, Jan. 23, with a special ceremony announcing the winners of the agency’s 5th annual Big Buck Photo Contest. WVDNR staff will also be scoring trophy deer mounts for free on a first-come, first-served basis. Hunters may bring in as many mounts to be scored as they wish, but each mount requires a deer check tag. A schedule for the scoring room is as follows:

  • Friday, Jan. 23: 3-8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 24: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 25: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During the event, WVDNR staff will also help attendees with purchases of hunting and fishing licenses and orders for new collectible license cards, which feature popular game and sportfish species. Proceeds support conservation awareness campaigns for the state's fish and wildlife resources. Hunters and anglers who wish to preview the collectible cards or place an order may do so at WVhunt.com.

The West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show is hosted by the West Virginia Trophy Hunters Association, a non-profit group that has donated more than $1.25 million to fund wildlife conservation, education and promoting hunting and hunter rights.
