A single-vehicle accident taking place late afternoon on Saturday, May 2, that led to excessive damage fortunately resulted in no injuries.

According to the Valley Volunteer Fire Department in Marion County, they responded to a call for the accident at 5:30 p.m. The accident took place on the northbound side of Interstate 79 at the 136 mile marker.

Upon arrival, fire personnel found the vehicle had slammed into a guardrail  along the interstate. The first responders noted that the front end of the vehicle – a blue Pontiac G6 four-door sedan – had suffered heavy damage to the front end.

The Marion County Rescue Squad was on the scene for medical evaluations. The Valley VFD reported that there were no injuries.

The accident did lead to minor traffic issues as the off ramp in that area was blocked until the vehicle could be removed and the site cleared.

Valley VFD would keep the off ramp blocked until vehicle was recovered by Hillbilly Towing.
