On Saturday, July 2, The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County celebrates America with the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra (WSO) conducted by Maestro John Devlin, at the Clarksburg Amphitheatre in Clarksburg.

The concert is part of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra’s Celebrate America 2022 Tour, which makes stops in cities in West Virginia, including Clarksburg, Canaan Valley, Weirton, and Wheeling.

The WSO’s annual salute to America will begin at 8:00 pm and will feature some of West Virginia’s own great musical talents—Eli Lambie and the Mojo Kings and Isaiah Keez. The orchestra will set a celebratory tone with all of the best-loved patriotic tunes including the 1812 Overture, the Armed Forces Salute, and Stars and Stripes Forever and will join forces with special guests on original compositions and chart-topping hits including Don’t Stop Believing, September, Rolling in the Deep, Locked out of Heaven and Can’t Stop the Feeling. As the music concludes, the crowd will be treated to a fireworks display, sponsored by The Antero Foundation, set to all the best-loved patriotic tunes.

"This concert is truly a wonderful event that has become a summer tradition for so many in our local community," said Andy Walker, president of The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County. "It's an honor for the Foundation to welcome the Wheeling Symphony in Harrison County. We're grateful that we can make this a free event for the community thanks to the generosity of the Barbara B. Highland Fund for the Arts. Mrs. Highland's love for the arts has made a tremendous impact on our community and will continue to do so for years to come."

Music Director John Devlin looks forward to touring with the orchestra and sharing the remarkable talents of local musicians Isaiah Keez and Eli Lambie.

“Now that I have been a part of the Wheeling community for a few years, I’m getting to know the talented musicians who make the Ohio Valley their home,” said Devlin. “Eli Lambie has frequently played piano and keyboard with the orchestra and his band ‘The Mojo Kings’ are a hometown favorite. Isaiah Keez is an up-and-coming Hip-Hop artist and rapper that I have become acquainted with over the last year or so. When the orchestra, Eli and Isaiah come together on the same stage, we are going to have some musical fireworks – that’s for sure.”

In the event of rain, the concert will be held at The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center.

The event is presented by The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County, made possible by The Barbara B. Highland Fund for the Arts, a generous bequest of the late Barbara B. Highland. The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County thanks the City of Clarksburg, City Parks of Clarksburg, The Antero Foundation, and the many other donors and volunteers who have helped to make this event possible.
