Off the Shelf: Fall Brochure is Out; Event Updates

Our long-awaited fall event brochure is out now!
We have tons of events scheduled for all ages.
We also heard your feedback, and now everything in the brochure can be found on our website (bplwv.org/events) right when the brochure drops.
No more waiting each month! This means you can register now when you see something that catches your eye.
We are making changes to our usual lineup of events for fall, so please read on to find out more.
Based on feedback from our recent surveys, we have shifted some of our regular events to new times.
Little Learners, our afternoon story time for ages 3-5, will be moving from Thursday to Friday at 3 p.m. starting in September.
Tabletop Adventures, our Dungeons & Dragons group for teens, is moving to Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
We are starting several new events for children this season.
Early Explorers bridges the world of science and art to children ages 0-5.
Every month children and their caregivers will have a chance to explore with a STEAM activity.
This event runs for an hour, but it is designed so families can drop in and out at any time.
Our new event, Tots & Tunes, is also designed for 0-5 age group.
Join us every fourth Saturday at 2 p.m. starting in September for a half-hour of musical fun.
Children will dance, sing, and play at the library.
Stop by after school for Study Hall every Tuesday from 3:30-5:30 PM.
We provide snacks and a quiet space to study.
Our library staff in attendance both have professional backgrounds in education and will be happy to help you on your learning journey.
Study Hall is open for ages 6-17.
Our teen book club, Tomes & Tropes, is now Tomes, Tropes, and Texts. In addition to the book club, we are adding a writing element to the program.
Teens will have a chance to get feedback on their writing projects from a certified writing tutor and talk with their friends about the books they are reading. Every month will have its own theme.
By popular demand, September will be covering Myths and Legends.
Also for teens, we are starting a new program called Off the Books.
Teens will gain useful life skills taught by adults with experience in the week's topic, and they will get to share their struggles with their peers.
Off the Books meets twice a month on the first and third Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Our Quilting Basics class is on hiatus for the fall season.
In its absence, we are hosting a new Sewing Club & Service Project club at its usual meeting time.
You can work on your own sewing project or volunteer your time to sew for Robes for Recovery.
Our event brochures are available at the library and across the community at places like Bridgeport City Hall, Stone Tower Brews, the library's Little Free Libraries at Bridgeport City Park and the Bridge's baseball fields, and more.
We will also have brochures available the next time we are at the Bridgeport Farmers & Makers Market on Sunday, September 13.
