Off the Shelf: For Passionate Readers Waiting to See Next Big Author, Here's an Advance Spring Preview

For all those passionate readers who can’t wait for the next John Grisham and David Baldacci, here is an advance preview of the titles that are scheduled for this spring.  If they have been pre-ordered in the library’s catalog, then you can place a hold on the book in advance.
 
March brings Hilary Mantel’s trilogy about Thomas Cromwell to a close with “The Mirror and the Light” while Harlan Coben delves into a mysterious disappearance in “The Boy from the Woods.”  Chris Bohjalian returns with “The Red Lotus” and award-winning fantasy author, N. K. Jemisin creates a new world in “The City We Became.”
 
Emily St. John Mandel gained fame with her dystopian novel, “Station Eleven,” and her newest, “The Glass Hotel Cover” follows the creator of a Ponzi scheme and the lives he impacts.  Popular novelist, Terry McMillan, offers a view on aging, “It’s Not All Downhill from Here.”
 
The latest in the Mercy Thompson series, “Smoke Bitten,” by Patricia Briggs arrives as well as young adult best-selling author, Sarah J. Maas’s first novel for adults, “House of Earth and Blood.”
 
Other March titles are: “Trace Elements” by Donna Leon, “The Night Watchman” by Louise Erdrich, “Actress” by Anne Enright and “The Numbers Game” by Danielle Steel.

May brings new novels from: Emma Stout, Suzanne Collins, Stuart Woods, Scott Turow, Michael Connelly, Mary Kay Andrews, Nora Roberts and Jeffrey Deaver.
 
And the newest book from Elena Ferrante, the best-selling author of “My Brilliant Friend,” is available in June entitled “The Lying Life of Adults.”
