Off the Shelf: March Events and Spring Brochure

By Angela Spatafore on March 04, 2026 from Off the Shelf

March is here, and so is the library’s highly anticipated Spring Event Brochure! Next time you’re at the library, be sure to pick one up. The brochure is packed full of fun, free events for kids, teens, and adults. Because this is a new season, I want to highlight some of the new events we are starting in spring.

Join us every Monday from 3-4 p.m. for Brain Power Hour, a chess club, coding club, and homework study group combined into one. The study space is not meant to be completely silent. You can expect to hear patrons practicing their spelling words aloud or rolling dice to practice math problems. Attendees are invited to share ideas with one another and work together. Parents and students can suggest study strategies and work together with one another to cultivate a community of learning. Library staff will also be available to help navigate e-resources to provide extra learning support or provide a sounding board for ideas.

Our community swap events have been so popular we now have one every month! We are hosting a sewing supply drive in March, a puzzle and board game swap in April, and a stationery swap in May. Each swap runs for an hour, and you are encouraged to bring your own supplies. In the spirit of the swap, no money may be exchanged, and you must take all remaining supplies with you at the end of the swap. Perhaps the best part of these swaps is connecting with people with similar hobbies!

Starting on April 1, our hours are changing. We will still be open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, but our Friday and Saturday hours will change. On Friday, we will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and on Saturday, we will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. With our extended weekend hours, we will have more time for new programs such as Saturday Stories, a new upcoming story time for ages 0-6. Saturday Stories will run every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 10-10:30 a.m. starting in April.

Tea & Talk, an old favorite for adults, is returning with a new format. Join us every 2nd and 4th Monday from 1-2 p.m. to eat snacks, drink tea, and talk about the TV shows and movies you are currently watching. It is a great way to talk about the media you’re consuming and maybe get some new recommendations!

Finally, join us every 2nd Thursday from 1-2 p.m. for Tech Help Drop-In. If you haven’t been able to schedule a 1-on-1 tech help appointment, you can skip the scheduler and bring your device to this event. Staff will be available to answer your questions and help you troubleshoot basic issues.
