Off the Shelf: Staff Promotion, Community Outreach

By Angela Spatafore on October 01, 2025 from Off the Shelf

Another familiar staff member has been promoted to a new role! Longtime library employee, Natalie Fox is now our Community Outreach & Marketing Coordinator. She is the creative force behind our social media and in-house marketing, and she is also one of the faces you will see behind library tables at community events.

She wanted to share these words with you, “I look forward to serving the community as the Community Outreach and Marketing Coordinator.  I’ve been a part of Bridgeport Public Library since 2012, and it’s amazing to see how much the library makes a difference in people’s lives. If you happen to see me at an outreach event, please stop by and say hi. I would love to tell you all what is going on at the library and get you connected to community resources that you may not know about.”

With our outreach van (who we on staff affectionately call Bertha), we can bring the library to most community events. Just last week we took the van out on the road every day to events including the National Recovery Month event by the Veterans Health Administration, the craft show at the Bridge, and the Bridgeport Farmer’s Market. Be sure to keep an eye out for us!

To echo Natalie, please feel free to stop by our table when you see us out and about—we'd love to hear from you! Even though National Library Card Sign-Up Month has come to an end, we will continue to bring library card sign-ups to our outreach tables. It is never too late to get a library card, and we would love to talk to you about what the library can offer.

Also, if you are organizing a community event in Harrison County, we would love to be part of the festivities! You can reach out to Natalie by email (nfox@bridgeportwv.gov) or by phone (304-842-8248 ext. 3). You can also visit our website to learn more about the different services and activities we can bring with us: https://www.bplwv.org/outreach-10671
