Bridgeport’s boys basketball team continues to get respect from coaches across the state, but in the most recent poll the Indians dropped a spot as they are now ranked third, down one spot, in the latest coaches poll.
In the Week 8 West Virginia Schools Athletic Coaches Association (WVSACA) poll, Bridgeport received 103 points to come in ranked third in Class AAA. The Tribe received four first place votes, which is up from two in the last poll, and trails No. 1 Capital and now No. 2 North Marion. BHS will play No. 4 Chapmanville, who was second two weeks ago, weather permitting Saturday
Two other local schools are in the top 10 as well. East Fairmont is ranked No. 5, while Robert C. Byrd comes in at No. 10.
In Class AAAA, Morgantown is No. 1, while Wheeling Central is No. 1 in Class AA. Tug Valley holds the top spot in Class A.
