Bridgeport Boys Basketball Earns Top Seed in Class AAA Region II Tournament

The Indians are the No. 1 seed in the Class AAA Region II bracket, released Thursday by the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission after voting by regional coaches.
Bridgeport has a first-round bye and will play the winner of the Thursday, March 5 game between No. 4 Elkins and No. 5 Lewis County, set for 7 p.m.
The Tigers or the Minutemen will then travel to Bridgeport on Tuesday, March 10 for a 7 p.m. tip in the regional co-finals.

The winner of that game will advance to the eight-team Class AAA state tournament at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center on March 17-21.
In the other half of the Region II bracket, No. 3 Keyser hosts No. 6 Hampshire on Thursday, March 5, with the winner traveling to No. 2 Robert C. Byrd on Tuesday, March 10.
Following a 69-47 trouncing of Fairmont Senior on Wednesday, Bridgeport is 17-4 on the campaign and will close the regular season at home on Friday, Feb. 27 against Grafton at 7:30 p.m.
