Bridgeport High Sports Teams Announce Dates, Information for 1st Days of Practice

Practices for fall sports at Bridgeport High School are getting underway this week. Here are the details for each sport.
Boys Soccer
The first practice is Monday, August 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Wayne Jamison Field.
Players should bring cleats, shin guards and running shoes.
Make sure to bring a physical dated May 1, 2026 or later if one has not already been turned in.
A brief parent meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. to touch base on details for the season.
Girls Soccer
Tryouts are Monday, August 3 through Wednesday, August 5 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Wayne Jamison Field. Players should bring cleats, running shoes and shin guards.
Cross Country
Practice starts at 8 a.m. on Monday, August 3 and will be held Monday through Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. at Bridgeport City Park. Runners need a current physical and need to be ready to run.
Cheerleading
Tryouts and the start of practice will be Monday, August 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Bridgeport High gymnasium. Athletes should bring water and, if they have not been for a flex day, a completed physical form.
Football
Practice begins on Monday, August 8 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Wayne Jamison Field.
Athletes will need their physical, a pair of cleats and to wear a white shirt and red or black shorts. All other equipment will be supplied.
Golf
Tryouts will be Monday, August 3 at 1 p.m. and Tuesday, August 4 at 8 a.m. at Bridgeport Country Club.
Golfers will need to bring a current physical dated after May 1, 2026.
Please bring a water bottle, clubs and balls and be prepared to walk 18 holes.
Volleyball
Tryouts will be Monday, August 3 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Bridgeport High gymnasium. Student-athletes will need to bring a current physical, if they have not already done so, as well as water, knee pads, court shoes and regular tennis shoes for conditioning outside.
