Bridgeport Staves Off Loss with Huge Rally vs. RCB to Take Semifinal Round Class AAA Regional Victory

By Jeff Toquinto on November 03, 2025

Bridgeport rallied from down two sets to win a Class AAA Region II semifinal tonight at home against Harrison County rival Robert C. Byrd in five set.

The Indians fell down 0-2 before the home team rallied to force the decisive fifth set. The Eagles won the first set 25-23 and came back to go up 2-0 by winning the second 25-18.

The Indians started the road back with a 25-19 win in the third set. The momentum stayed with the Tribe in the fourth set as the match became knotted up following a 25-17.

In the decisive fifth set, Bridgeport led the duration. The hosts capped the comeback win by a 15-7 score.

Bridgeport will play for the regional title Wednesday. BHS will face the winner of tonight's second matchup between RCB and Elkins. The match will be at 6 p.m. and if the Indians win, they advance to states. If the Indians lose, it will be a winner-take-all final match immediately after.
