The course is now decades old, but the Pete Dye Golf Club just outside the city limits of Bridgeport is still drawing rave reviews from those in the industry. The most recent acclaim is coming from the publishers of Golfweek.

According to Golfweek, Pete Dye comes in at number two for private courses in West Virginia. It trails Morgantown's Pikewood National on the state list.

The Pete Dye Golf Club also fared well nationally on the private course list for best modern courses in the United States. It comes in at No. 37, while Pikewood finishes at No. 27.
