Fairmont State softball's Emily Riggs garnered Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-American Honorable Mention accolades on Wednesday (May 24) after a national vote of athletic communication & sports information professionals.
 
The Bridgeport native and former Bridgeport High School all-stater, notched single-season career highs in doubles (17), runs scored (30), on base percentage (.497) and walks (25) in her 2023 campaign. She earned All-MEC First Team accolades and all-region recognition from the D2CCA and the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) for her performance this season.
 
Riggs becomes the first Fairmont State softball player to achieve All-American honors since 2016, when Courtney Iacobacci landed a spot on the D2CCA First Team All-America list.
