Indians' Boys Hoops Team Stays Status Quo in New Class AAA Poll; Top Five Showdown Friday at BHS

Bridgeport’s boys basketball team stayed in the same spot in the most recent boys basketball poll, but were jumped by the team that topped them Saturday afternoon, according to the latest coaches poll.
 
In the Week 9 West Virginia Schools Athletic Coaches Association (WVSACA) poll, Bridgeport received 128  points to come in ranked third in Class AAA. The Tribe, as it did last week, received four first place votes. BHS trails No. 1 Capital and now No. 2 Chapmanville, who was No. 4 in the last poll.
 
The Tigers rolled past Bridgeport 66-43. Both teams are now 13-3.
 
Last week's second-ranked team, North Marion, fell to No. 4. The Indians and Huskies will play Friday at BHS.
 
Two other local schools are in the top 10 as well. East Fairmont, who Bridgeport topped, is ranked No. 5, while Robert C. Byrd comes in at No. 8.
 
In Class AAAA, Morgantown is No. 1, while Wheeling Central is No. 1 in Class AA. Tug Valley holds the top spot in Class A.
