Indians Improve to 24-8 with Victory Against Patriots

The Bridgeport High School baseball team improved to 24-8 with 12-5 victory against Wheeling Park on Wednesday in a regional tune-up game.
Teams that are still alive in regional tournaments are allowed to play additional games against other teams that are still alive this week before the best of three regional championship series’ begin next week.
Bridgeport will face Frankfort in the Class AAA Region II best two of three series beginning on Tuesday in Bridgeport.
Luke Rohrig went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and four RBIs to lead a balanced BHS attack. Carson Currey also had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run.
Jacob Stavrakis also doubled and drove in three runs.
Guy Avolio scattered five hits over six innings and struck out six en route to picking up the win.
The Indians will also have a regional tune-up game on Friday at Morgantown.
