Photos: BHS Defeats Hampshire 6-2 to Advance to Class AAA Region II Championship Series

The Bridgeport High School baseball team advanced through its side of the Class AAA Region II bracket with a 6-2 victory against Hampshire on Saturday at Frank Loria Memorial Field.
The top-seeded Indians, now 22-8, will face the winner of the other side of the bracket which is down to No. 2 Robert C. Byrd and No. 3 Frankfort, in the regional finals. The Eagles and Falcons are scheduled to play on Monday. RCB would need to win twice to advance as Frankfort defeated RCB, last Thursday.
Owen Sondericker hit a three-run homer for the Indians against Hampshire. Carson Currey had two hits, including a double, and scored twice. Sam Goodwin also had two hits.
Aiden Dunn picked up the win on the mound, allowing one hit in three shutout innings with four strikeouts.
