It won't be the first time this year Bridgeport will have a football game that won't be played on Friday night. However, it will be the first game played on Saturday.

According to Bridgeport High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Mark Jones, the Indians will face off against Mingo Central Saturay at 1:30 p.m in a Class AA quarterfinal contest. The game will be played at Wayne Jamison Field.

As the visiting team, the Miners had the choice of when to play the contest. They could choose Friday at 7:30 p.m, or between 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The No. 2 seeded and 10-1 Bridgeport squad advanced to the second round thanks to a 56-15 win against No. 15 Lewis County. MCHS, 9-2, was the only lower seed to win in the Class AA portion of the bracket as it took a 13-7 win against No. 7 Shady Spring.

Mingo sports one of the most prolific offenses in the state, despite the struggles against SSHS. The club primarily leans on their passing game, but went to the ground to get the win against Shady Spring when offense was needed.
